With 2017 planning just around the corner, it’s important to think about a few ways you can boost your B2B marketing efforts. Here are just a few of our favourite tricks. We’ll have more tips for you in our blog next month as well.
- Website
If you don’t have a website, you need one. This is no longer considered a nice-to-have asset, it’s a must-have. This will be the go-to where customers, potential and existing, will gather this preliminary research information about your brand. You can include lead-capture information such as newsletter sign-ups, sharing your products or services, and contact information – this includes your social media profiles as well. This is, without a doubt, your first impression. So make it count.
- Content
The next part of being found online is providing content. Your website will have lots of information about its history, its products or services, and much more. But customers these days want more. They want new information to be updated regularly and the best way to provide this is with blogs, videos, infographics, and more. Educate and inform your customers and visitors with industry trends and news. Once you are seen as the go-to expert, they’ll be more inclined to purchase after that. Posting new and relevant content will also give you something to talk about on your social media channels and invite your audience to redirect to your website.
- Social Media
Before anything else, make sure you are where your audience is. That is to say, if your target market is on Instagram, be sure you have a presence there. But if they are only on Twitter or LinkedIn… rethink your Instagram strategy. Next, listen to what your audience wants and give that to them. Be sure to share information that is relevant to your industry to truly show you’re an expert in your field. Don’t be afraid to share what other experts are saying and doing. This will also help solidify your expert standing. Don’t forget to include your social media profile links on your website so they can find you easily!
- Search Engines
Website. Check. Content. Check. Now you just need to be found on search engines. This is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Without so much as paying for advertising, you can get found on search engines like Google and Yahoo! and Bing. This is thanks to the regular content updates you do (blogs, videos, etc.) and the social media profiles you’re building for yourself. Posting regularly not only helps to keep your customers interested and coming back for more, but it keeps the search engine Gods happy as well.
